By 31 March 2025, businesses and relevant non-domestic premises in England will need to arrange for the collection of the core recyclable waste streams, with the exception of garden waste (glass, metal, plastic, paper and card, and food waste)
Although (as defined in the legislation) paper and card should ideally be collected separately from other dry recyclable waste (plastic, metal and glass), private waste management contractors and local authorities will still be permitted to collect paper and card together with other dry recyclables if it:-
is not ‘technically practicable’
is not ‘economically practicable’
has ‘no significant environmental benefit’
A written assessment to explain why one or more of the options applies will be required by the enforcing authority. More of this legislation (Government) - link
