(H2V) HYZON MOTORS SETS UP HOME IN NOBLE PARK

Melbourne, Australia will be home to Hyzon Motors’ brand-new headquarters, the hydrogen vehicle manufacturer confirmed today (Jan 31).

Marking a key moment for Hyzon, the site will help the company grow in the Oceania region and support existing projects and initiatives in the geography.

Once complete, Hyzon’s facility will comprise of corporate offices, a showroom, assembly warehousing and workshop, all of which is expected to generate over 100 local jobs.

Development of the new site will be carried out under a new partnership agreement with the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV), an emergency roadside assistance and motor insurance company.

Under the agreement, Hyzon will locate new headquarters at RACV’s Noble Park location and RACV has placed its first-ever hydrogen vehicle order with Hyzon for three HyMax TT7 tilt-tray trucks and one HyMax prime movers.

It is hoped RACV will begin trialling these vehicles by the end of the year (2022)

HYZON PREPARING FOR TRIALS IN UNITED STATES

Hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck company Hyzon Motors said Wednesday it is ramping up operations in the wake of its merger with blank-check firm Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Corp., including shipping its first trucks to European customers.

The company, which reported second-quarter earnings Wednesday, said it is also preparing to start its first customer trials in the United States.

Like other transportation companies that have gone public via a merger with a special purpose acquisition fund, Hyzon doesn’t yet have any revenue to speak of. Instead, Hyzon is banking on the huge injection of capital from the transaction — more than $500 million — and growing customer orders to take it to positive cash flow.

In addition to manufacturing hydrogen fuel cell powertrains, Hyzon is also investing in hydrogen fuel production hubs, a key piece of infrastructure for technology uptake. In April, the company signed an MOU for a joint venture with renewable fuels company Raven SR for up to 100 hydrogen production hubs. HYZON'S 154 TON H2 TRUCK HEADS TO EUROPE

Heavy-duty trucks and buses are the bad guys among long-haul vehicles when it comes to greenhouse gas emissions, but, on the other hand, the transport industry worries that switching to alternative fuels would reduce the range and efficiency of these types of trucks. 

Apparently, it’s possible to solve both issues, and the new Hyzon heavy-duty truck is here to prove it.

Based in Rochester, New York, Hyzon is first and foremost a fuel cell developer that claims to offer the highest-density fuel cell on the market (validated by TUV Rheinland, a third-party testing authority).

For over 2 decades, the company has been researching and testing innovative materials, components and improvements in performance metrics, in order to obtain fuel cell stacks with the highest power in the world. And what better way to demonstrate their efficiency than by using them on trucks and buses?

This resulted in zero-emissions heavy-duty plus medium-duty trucks and coach buses. Among these, the Hyzon heavy-duty trucks stand out due to the fact that it combines massive power and range with a large build, while staying emission-free.

Recently, the company announced that its giant 154-ton hydrogen fuel cell-powered truck will be delivered to a European transport group, for construction operations. Weighing 154 tons by U.S. measurements, which is considered the heaviest in the industry, this will officially become the heaviest zero-emissions truck on record.
