Siemens Gamesa has ordered 140 offshore wind turbine towers for three different projects at Denmark’s Welcon.
78 towers will be manufactured for the 1.5 GW Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) wind farm in the Dutch North Sea, 38 towers for the 342 MW Kaskasi project in the German North Sea, and 24 towers for the 450 MW Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) wind farm off the Fife coast, Scotland.The first towers for Vattenfall’s Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm will be ready for delivery at the end of 2021, and the remaining units are to be supplied throughout 2022 together with the towers for the Kaskasi and the NnG wind farms.
Expanding to Meet the Demand
