(WEV) LIME OPENS LONDON POP-UP

The world’s largest shared electric scooter and bike company is launching its first ever pop-up in Central London this week.

Lime is to open its temporary centre to the general public between Thursday 8th and Sunday 18th September 2022 as it celebrates its busiest summer yet.

The Lime & Learn Community Hub will give visitors insight into the world of sustainable micro-mobility, offering them services and complete in-app safety training to win prizes and more. The public will also get the chance to meet the local Lime team.

Georgia Corr, Public Policy Manager at Lime, spoke of the impact the launch would have on current issues Londoners face.

“The opening of our Lime & Learn Community Hub in London is a world first for Lime and follows a summer of significant growth for the business here. At a time when we face an air quality crisis in the capital and a global climate emergency, the volume of people we’re seeing and travelling by e-bike and e-scooter in London is hugely positive. We have a whole host of fun activities on offer that everyone can get involved in to celebrate,” she said.

As part of the pop-up, Lime is also hosting a private panel event on Wednesday 14th September. The event, ‘Breaking down barriers: how to make micro-mobility services more inclusive for everyone’, will discuss how operators, local councils and stake holders can work together to make these provisions more inclusive for everyone sharing London’s streets.

It will be moderated by Samantha Renke, a broadcaster, author and disability advocate, along with Alan Clarke, Senior Director of Public Policy at Lime, Isabelle Clement MBE, Director at Wheels for Wellbeing, and Simon Munk, Campaigns Manager at London Cycling Campaign.

Since introducing its e-bikes to the capital in late 2018, Lime has seen continuous growth, with the company recently celebrating a milestone of seven million rides. It has also seen great success in its e-scooter trial launched in London last summer.

Members of the public will also get to see the teams of the London Cycling Campaign and Wheels for Wellbeing, on the 14th and 15th respectively, and learn more about them.

The hub will be open Monday to Friday: 9.00 – 18.00, and Saturday to Sunday: 10.00 – 16.00. Lime representatives will be available everyday throughout the duration of the pop-up to answer any questions about its e-scooter and e-bike services, and to help people get signed up to its app with mandatory safety training.
