(H2V) AUSTRALIA REVIEWING H2 EXPORTATION

A new international partnership will explore the potential exportation of ammonia from Australia’s hydrogen hubs in Queensland and New South Wales to Singapore.

Keppel Infrastructure, Incitec Pivot, and Temasek have all signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), revealed today (Nov 5), to explore the feasibility for this project that could enhance the exportation potential of Australian made hydrogen.

The three parties will work closely with the Queensland and New South Wales Governments to explore the feasibility in exporting hydrogen, through ammonia, with the need to identify essential infrastructure, licences and approvals key to produce and export ammonia.

It is expected that the ammonia produced from hydrogen will be used to decarbonise the power, industrial, maritime transportation and the aviation sectors.

Ms Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel Infrastructure, said, “Keppel is pleased to partner with Incitec Pivot and Temasek to explore and identify feasible pathways to develop secure, scalable and cost competitive green ammonia supply chains from production, transportation and storage to distribution and end-uses in the global and regional markets.

“Availing green ammonia, as a potential source of clean fuel to support the demand for sustainable energy, can meaningfully contribute to deep decarbonisation in power and hard-to-abate sectors. H2-View - link - the brilliant George Heynes - link - more like this - link
