Engie Green’s 11MW Saint-Aubin-des-Chateaux windfarm, in France’s Pays de la Loire region, has begun generating power.
Construction was completed on time despite restrictions relating to Covid-19, said the developer. The €14m wind farm is made up of five turbines. It is the company’s sixth wind farm in Pays de la Loire.
Each wind turbine was assembled on site, with the three parts of each tower assembled first before the installation of the nacelle.
Each turbine’s three blades were then installed last. Engie carried out extensive environmental impact assessments in relation to the project, before and during construction.
This include health monitoring of livestock in surrounding farms carried out by independent experts in collaboration with stakeholders. The monitoring will continue.
Engie operates six wind farms and five solar power plants in the Pays de la Loire region with a total installed capacity of more than 77MW - REDaly link - more link this - link
