Rose tinted glasses
- Until 2080, a warmer climate will produce:-
- Lower energy costs for farmers in the northern hemisphere
- Higher CO2 levels leading to increased plankton biomass in the North Pacific providing greater food stocks to a multitude of fish and whales
- Lower costs to feed livestock
- Improved soil quality by enhancing carbon sequestration through carbon farming
- Agriculture in Canada such as Alberta would benefit from increased rainfall in both summer and winter
- Larger yields of fruits and vegetables in the northern hemisphere
- Faster tree growth increasing CO2 storage
- Later annual frosts allowing farmers to expand their range of produce
- Increased vegetable production across Greenland
- Better conditions for certain sea life such as cephalopods and starfish
- Reduction in winter deaths throughout Europe
- Reduced ice in the Northwest Passage providing a shipping shortcut between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans
- More suitable climate for some animals such as the Gentoo penguins, Wild Boars, cats and butterflies leading to increased populations
- Better survival rates for young animals throughout the northern hemisphere
- Increased forest growth
- Increased Arctic tundra plant reproduction
- Greater carbon dioxide uptake in the oceans moderating and slowing further warming
- Increased cod fishing leading to improved Greenland economy
(All speculation - but it's ALL speculation)
