READING RACERS - TIME TO REBUILD

At the beginning of 2020 the team started to come together, only to be told by the BSPA that no nomadic teams could race unless they had their own track.

So the Racers decided to take a break from the 2020 season to concentrate on following up plans to raise funds and find a Willing sponsor to build their Dream track back in the Reading area.

After the Covid-19 outbreak the whole Speedway season was put on hold - link

With Reading FC facing oblivion, or worse, an eternity in Leagues 1 and 2, a revamped Reading Racers could be just what the aspiring city needs as a sporting identity to hang its hat on. In fact, The Royals being as useless as they are these days, a simple fix would be to rent a speedway bike and get the squad to do a timed lap of whatever Madjeski stadium is called these days. The slowest 25 could then be sold with the money raised going towards two new bikes and a season's supply of nitro. I have an old helmet and gauntlets I don't need, where should I send them?

    1. Hello Bangaroo - thanks for sharing. As you say, with RFC currently lacking on the good vibrations front, what better time to bring back the speedway and relive those great days when celebrities like Gary Gli - whatever. Hang on to your old helmet and gloves, depending upon my success in raising funds we might need them for our first season back; it might be you wearing them.
